"THE REVELATION" by Bandana Jain

Contemporary Artist Bandana Jain introduces her artwork named REVELATION. Artist Bandana Jain captures the profound beauty and vulnerability of marine life with her artwork- “REVELATION”. Jain tries to depict the immediacy of trauma caused by the oil spills on our sea creatures, telling us the story of those tragic victims. This environmental catastrophe has a devastating impact on life within coastal and marine ecosystems. The antiquity of the mirror and the fluid pattern of corrugation contemplate the lookalike pattern of oil in water emulsion. It serves as a clear reflection of the anticipated damage to marine life. Artist gives us a hopeful reminder of preserving our planet’s marine beauty from harmful human interventions. . Artists inevitably bring personal and unique interpretations to each idea, site, social construct, and aesthetic potential. In this way, artists can be social and civic leaders, advocating through art for alternative perspectives that can question assumptions, beliefs, and community values.

Through my work I try to study this beautiful creation, and empower it in my own voice of art. My work spans across various media (Digital, Mix Media & Traditional), I’m constantly experimenting with different styles & techniques, to expand my vocabulary of the arts. Very passionate and an avid learner, I aspire to be a well-taught artist and I’m constantly working towards this goal.

Recent works by Malavika Reddy

Malavika Reddy did her BFA from MS University, Baroda. Malavika said that nature is a manifestation of a power beyond our own understanding and we find great power in being able to express herself when she paints or draw elements of nature. Her point of view life being expressed through Expression. There is also the undeniable aspect of withering and death, an end but not a full stop, the beginning of a fresh start. She said women have struggle to be acknowledged or respected in a society that more often than not doesn't see their contribution and deeper essence, her presence, like nature is undeniable.

Recent works by Debosmita Samanta

Debosmita Samanta, completed her MFA from S.N school of Arts and communication, Hyderabad Central University and BFA from College of Art and Design, Burdwan University. She could probably find a place in the fragile spaces between fiction and autobiography memories and personal experiences are the bedrock of her paintings. Memories, love, personal mythology, family history interpretation of self-psychology yolk together her works inspiration and it's thematic scheme. The images in her paintings serve as dual metaphors that are attuned to historical importance and documentation of certain incidents or real-life stories. All the myriad images formed that is perhaps lying dormant in our deep experiential memory are represented by the images in her paintings. The psychological and emotional aspects of a woman's life, her transitional identity and the state of a perplexed existence are reflected in her art works.

Recent works by Pooja Kukadiya

Pooja kukadiya's is portrayed - when the river flows, it water doesn't dwell into the thoughts of meeting the ocean, it simply flows. This is exactly what Pooja did. She flowed she accept the truth she became the truth. Pooja like to paint wall art and breathe life into it by weaving and creating stories and performances around it. As a visual artist, she deeply believes in the power of surreal living. She feel that she has a home, a refuge , a place of work and worship in her mind and there she truly feel alive and give birth to things , people call 'art' explore her wall art and her interaction with it, in the visual poem called 'Lost' and meet and know her through Rahasya.

Rucha Kulkarni is completed her MFA from MS University Baroda, and BFA from university of Pune. She worked on the traditional Maharashtrian hand stitched baby quilt. 'The baby quilt, (Dupate). One day during community art project Quilt culture, she was working with Godhari quilters and it generally started discussing about siblings one young women told about her six dead sisters and the practice of female feticide in her neighborhood shaken to the core, she asked her , why she isn't blaming her parents for it  - how could she complain, when she has still alive? They kept her alive where as six of her sisters didn't make it out of the womb. She said it and continue making baby quilt.

Last but not the least, we urge art lovers and viewers to support the female expression and their views. The constant struggle in this particular society, men rule the roost and women have low status and few rights. the female artists are expressing that women don’t want flowers and poems. They want to live and exists as equals in the male society. They want love and respect. They are narrating themselves as examples.

67th National Film Awards: Raj Pritam More win Best Debut Director

Raj Pritam More has won the National Award for Best Directorial Debut for his short film Khisa (2020). The prestigious awards were announced on Monday.

Raj More

Under the Banner of PP Cine Production Mumbai and Laal tippafilms , Movie Khisa is Produced by Santosh Maithani and Raj More. The film has been shot at  Akola ( Vidarbha).

The short film is about the loss of innocence that reflects the harsh reality of today's polarized times.

Even after becoming a successful painter, my primary interest was filmmaking, says Raj More

More told  that he was delighted about winning the coveted award. "Every filmmaker wishes to win a National Award," he said.

The filmmaker, a respected contemporary visual artist, said the award has given him a lot of confidence. "This was my first film and I had invested the past two years in it. It had won many awards at various international festivals but after it got selected for the International Film Festival of India this year, I realized that there was a chance that we could win the National Award. I can't contain my happiness. I would also like to thank my team, especially my Saimarjit Sight (DOP) and my Santosh Maithani (editor) for having full faith in my vision and he is also co-producers with me on this short film khisa. I was a new, and they were experienced technicians, but still, they showed confidence in me and backed me all the way.

This announcement couldn't have come at a better time for More,  as he is planning to pitch his next feature film script to producers. "This National Award can make the road ahead a little smoother for someone like me who has no background in filmmaking. Because when you get the tag of 'National Award-winning director' people welcome you and are more willing to listen to your script narrations."

Khisa is about a Class 4 student who decides to get a large pocket stitched on his school shirt. He is proud of his pocket because it sets him apart from the rest of the schoolchildren. But his seemingly innocent action has far-reaching political implications for the adults of his village.

 CURATORIAL NOTE

Nippon  Gallery presents the show "TH3EE FEMININE PERSPECTIVE" which is curated by Tathi Premchand and Assistant curator Anjali Dutt. Tathi Premchand is the creator of the Nippon art gallery in Mumbai and also an artist.

In our society, there is always pressure on women and expected that ensure they can manage and manage the whole thing like work, family and time limits, professional life, marriages, etc. All these things are always emphasized to women. Women are trying to balance everything. Their entire life manages everything from childhood to death. They are fighting their barriers. They play an important role in our society such as mother, daughter, sister, etc.

The show is based on upcoming the three young contemporary female artists Aditi Purwar, Smriti Rastogi, and Shivangi Kalra, They are BFA students from the College of Art, Delhi. They are going to portray themselves as well as their everyday life experiences and feminine perspective through their striking pieces of art. Play with shadows and experiment with the various mediums. They create the ideology in their pieces.

In this exhibition, the three young women artists have portrayed socially and domestically as a vehicle to express various thoughts and ideas. These three female artists have to see the women as role models and what they are facing problems and doing activities or role in day-to-day life. And artists also depicted their life through their artworks. They explore their ideas against the patriarchal society with their experiences. Mostly their subjects are on their own lives. Also as women, they are fighting the stereotypes of society as well as conservative families. Their recent artworks are on pandemic situations how we are facing and going through mental trouble at homes.

Artists using varieties of mediums like oils, watercolors, tempera, acrylics, woodcuts, etc. Most of the works are figurative. These feminist artists are presenting their own life experiences through their art pieces. They usually work with vibrant colors in their artworks. They are used in different perspectives and angles such as diagonals, geometrical patterns, aerial views, naked human bodies, etc. Besides, they used home unoccupied space to portray the presence in the place. They have portrayed their artwork in a post-modern and contemporary style as psychoanalysis and intellectually presenting the body. How the body plays various roles in society, both physically and mentally, especially as a woman.

All are amazingly done by artists. The beauty of women is the expression of their entire world. We say by the beautiful lines by renowned artist:

“These little compositions are the expression of my happiness and that is why perhaps I am particularly fond of them." - AMRITA SHER GIL

{As a young woman artist, she independently learned the art of self-portraiture and developed it as distinguishing features of her respective painters. She made an important place in 20th-century art history.}

This exhibition offers works by three young women artists who suggest and focuses on the subjects who we are facing or deals with it in the everyday lives that we hardly observe.
